2020 WERA Grand National Finals and AMA Road Race Grand Championships Schedule
AMA Road Race Grand Championships - Pre Entry Instructions
Part of the 48th Annual WERA Grand National Finals at Barber Motorsports Park
October 22-25, 2020
The first step for online Pre Entry is to get an ID number from WERA. If you already have a WERA license you’re all set. If you raced the RRGC last couple of years or have raced VMD before (since 2009) then we have already assigned one to you - just email WERA at wera@wera.com and we’ll get you set up. If you have never run an event run by WERA, same deal just email us. For either we will need your name, address, bike number, and AMA member number. If you’ve never run the RRGC, VMD or any WERA event prior to this we’ll assign you a number. These are just numbers for our system to keep track of everyone and are different than your other race numbers. If you do have your ID number from last year and start going through the entry process and the system charges you for a membership please email us and we’ll get the expiration date in the system fixed (unless you do want to renew your membership then by all means continue). All racers must have a current roadracing license from another organization if they do not have a current WERA license and you must present this license at registration when you pick up your pre entry paperwork.
Once you’ve got the ID number you will be able to register/login for pre entry on the website. You can set up your bike(s) you are running, enter sponsors and so on. To register for the site you’ll need your ID which we will email back to you, your zip code, and your expiration month - for full WERA members this will vary and is on your license, for AMA RRGC only racers this will be October (10).
Under the “My Profile” link when you’re logged in you will see a link for “Race Entries”. Then click the link for the 2020 AMA Road Race Grand Championship. Thursday Morning Practice is listed as a class in alphabetical order but will be charged differently. All riders with or without a WERA license are able to run the AMA RRGC classes. You must have a full WERA License to be able to run the Pirelli/WERA National Challenge Series classes or WERA Vintage classes. You must have a full WERA license AND you must have run the class once prior in the season to run any of the WERA Sportsman Series races.
Pre Entry Fees for the event are as follows - $85 for Thursday Morning Practice per machine. If you want to enter multiple machines (assuming they fit in different practice groups) you will be able to add on at the track. If you have multiple machines in the same practice group just let tech know you have a backup bike and we will tech both. Sprint race pre entry fees $125 for your first class per series, $105 for your second and third entries, and then $100 for each additional class after that. You can also race the mini fun race if you wish, those are under the Sportsman Series event for Saturdays race and National Event for Sundays and costs $60 for both days.
All monies collected for online Pre Entry are done via PayPal. Grids for the AMA RRGC races will be done by entry order. To make this as fair as possible for those who need to get set up with an ID number and create their online profile we will delay opening pre entry until September 29th at noon eastern.
We will also be offering hard copy Pre Entry via Fax/Mail/Email. You can find the forms on the website at http://maps.wera.com/pdfs/forms/amarrgc2020.pdf these need to be completed and sent to the WERA office by October 13, 2020. Our fax number is 770-720-5015. The office address is WERA Motorcycle Roadracing 2555 Marietta Hwy., #104 Canton, GA 30114. If you wish to scan and email it in that can go to the main wera@wera.com address. We accept all major credit cards.
Gates will be opening between 5 and 6pm Wednesday. Parking will be in Lot B or C, you will be directed to turn right at the stop sign by the museum and the lot is on the right up the hill. We will be getting the vendors in early so they will be parked in their own line. Once the gates do open please enter in the order in which you arrived. The racing will happen later in the weekend and there is no reason to start the event off being rude to your fellow riders by trying to cut in line. Gate fees for rider/crew will be $40. Rider/Crew bands will be sold Wednesday 5-12, Thursday 6am-11pm, Friday 6am-11pm, Saturday 6am-10pm, Sunday 6:30am-2:30pm.
Any questions please email us at wera@wera.com and thank you for your interest in the WERA Grand National Finals and AMA Road Race Grand Championship!
